Chitrakoot

Chitrakoot is a town located in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is situated on the banks of the Mandakini River and is a popular pilgrimage site for Hindus. Chitrakoot is believed to be the place where Lord Rama, his wife Sita, and his brother Lakshmana spent a part of their exile period. It is also the birthplace of the poet Tulsidas, who is best known for writing the Ramcharitmanas.
