Itinerary

1. 

   Day 01

   Arrival in Lucknow – Naimisharanya Darshan

   Night Stay: Lucknow
   Places to Visit: Naimisharanya Misrikh Temple, Chakratirth, Suta Gaddi, Vyasa Gaddi, Dadhichi Kund
   Meals: Dinner

   Arrive in Lucknow and proceed to Naimisharanya, one of the holiest forests mentioned in Hindu scriptures and a sacred centre associated with ancient sages and Vedic traditions. Begin your darshan with Chakratirth, followed by Misrikh Temple, Suta Gaddi, Vyasa Gaddi, and Dadhichi Kund. These revered places are closely connected with the spiritual heritage of the region and the traditions of the Ramayana. The visit offers a peaceful beginning to the yatra, allowing travellers to enter the journey with prayer and devotion. After completing the temple visits and sacred-site darshan, return to Lucknow by evening. Check in at the hotel and relax after the day’s spiritual introduction.

2. 

   Day 02

   Lucknow to Ayodhya – Birthplace of Lord Rama

   Night Stay: Ayodhya
   Places to Visit: Sarayu River, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi, Hanuman Garhi, Dasharatha Mahal, Kanak Bhawan, Valmiki Ramayana Bhavan, Nandigram
   Meals: Breakfast & Dinner

   After breakfast, drive to Ayodhya, the eternal city associated with the birth and life of Lord Shri Ram. Begin the day with a sacred visit to the Sarayu River, where devotees may take a holy dip before continuing for darshan at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi. Later, visit Hanuman Garhi, followed by Dasharatha Mahal and Kanak Bhawan. Continue to Valmiki Ramayana Bhavan, reflecting on the story and legacy of the Ramayana. In the evening, proceed to Nandigram, traditionally associated with Bharat Ji and his devotion to Lord Rama during the years of exile. Return to Ayodhya for dinner and overnight stay.

3. 

   Day 03

   Ayodhya to Prayagraj – Sacred Sangam

   Night Stay: Prayagraj
   Places to Visit: Shringverpur, Triveni Sangam, Bade Hanuman Temple, Akshayvat, Veni Madhav Temple
   Meals: Breakfast & Dinner

   After breakfast, depart from Ayodhya for Prayagraj. En route, stop at Shringverpur, remembered in the Ramayana as the kingdom of Nishadraj and a place connected with Lord Rama’s journey during exile. Continue to Prayagraj and visit the sacred Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the traditionally revered Saraswati. Devotees may take a holy dip and spend time in prayer at the Sangam. Later, visit Bade Hanuman Temple, also known as Lete Hanuman Ji, along with Akshayvat and Veni Madhav Temple. As evening approaches, experience the devotional atmosphere of the Sangam Ghat Aarti before proceeding to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

4. 

   Day 04

   Prayagraj to Chitrakoot – Forest of Exile

   Night Stay: Chitrakoot
   Places to Visit: Gupt Godavari, Sati Anusuya Ashram, Sphatik Shila, Hanuman Dhara
   Meals: Breakfast & Dinner

   After breakfast, drive to Chitrakoot, one of the most important destinations associated with the vanvaas of Lord Rama, Mata Sita, and Lakshman Ji. The landscape of Chitrakoot is deeply woven into the Ramayana and preserves several sacred places linked with their years in the forest. Visit Gupt Godavari, the cave-temple complex traditionally associated with Lord Rama, followed by Sati Anusuya Ashram, a peaceful spiritual site surrounded by nature. Continue to Sphatik Shila, believed to preserve memories of Lord Rama and Mata Sita, and then visit Hanuman Dhara, where a natural spring flows over the sacred site. After completing the day’s darshan, check in at Chitrakoot for dinner and overnight stay.

5. 

   Day 05

   Chitrakoot to Varanasi

   Night Stay: Varanasi
   Places to Visit: Kamadgiri Parikrama, Ram Ghat, Bharat Milap Temple, Bharat Koop, Ram Darshan, Ganesh Bagh
   Meals: Breakfast & Dinner

   Begin the morning with the remaining sacred sites of Chitrakoot. Undertake the Kamadgiri Parikrama, a devotional circuit around the hill considered central to the spiritual identity of Chitrakoot. Continue to Ram Ghat, where the Mandakini River and the ghats create a deeply devotional setting, and visit Bharat Milap Temple, associated with the emotional meeting of Bharat and Lord Rama during exile. Also visit Bharat Koop, Ram Darshan, and Ganesh Bagh as time permits. After completing the Chitrakoot circuit, begin the onward drive to Varanasi, the ancient city of Lord Shiva. Arrive in Varanasi, check in at the hotel, and spend the evening at leisure after the journey.

6. 

   Day 06

   Explore the Eternal City of Kashi

   Night Stay: Varanasi
   Places to Visit: Kashi Vishwanath Jyotirlinga, Annapurna Temple, Kaal Bhairav, Bindu Madhav, Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple, Tulsi Manas Mandir, Dashashwamedh Ghat
   Meals: Breakfast & Dinner

   Begin the day with darshan at Shri Kashi Vishwanath Jyotirlinga, one of the twelve sacred Jyotirlingas and the spiritual heart of Kashi. Continue to Annapurna Temple and Kaal Bhairav Temple, traditionally regarded as the guardian deity of Varanasi. The temple circuit also includes Bindu Madhav, Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple, and Tulsi Manas Mandir, with a visit to ISKCON Temple if time permits. Between darshan, experience the narrow lanes, ghats, and living traditions that make Varanasi unique. In the evening, proceed to Dashashwamedh Ghat to witness the celebrated Ganga Aarti, with lamps, chants, and prayers offered to the sacred river. An optional sunrise boat ride on the Ganga may also be arranged.

7. 

   Day 07

   Varanasi to Buxar to Patna

   Night Stay: Patna
   Places to Visit: Siddhashram, Tadaka Van, Shri Ram Temple Buxar, ISKCON Patna
   Meals: Breakfast & Dinner

   After breakfast, depart Varanasi and proceed toward Patna with an important Ramayana stop at Buxar. According to the journey’s traditional narrative, this region is associated with young Lord Rama travelling under the guidance of Rishi Vishwamitra and beginning his early divine battles. Visit Siddhashram, connected with Rishi Vishwamitra’s hermitage, and Tadaka Van, traditionally remembered as the site of Lord Rama’s encounter with Tadaka. Continue to Shri Ram Temple situated near the banks of the Ganga and spend some time in prayer before resuming the drive. On arrival in Patna, visit ISKCON Patna as time permits, followed by hotel check-in, dinner, and overnight stay.

8. 

   Day 08

   Patna to Janakpur, Nepal – Birthplace of Mata Sita

   Night Stay: Janakpur
   Places to Visit: Janaki Mandir, Ram-Sita Vivah Mandap, Mithila art and spiritual markets
   Meals: Breakfast & Dinner

   After breakfast, begin the journey from Patna toward Janakpur in Nepal, the sacred city associated with Mata Sita and the kingdom of King Janaka. Complete the required border formalities with assistance as provided in the itinerary and continue to Janakpur. Visit the magnificent Janaki Mandir, known for its distinctive Mithila-style architecture and devotional importance. Continue to the Ram-Sita Vivah Mandap, traditionally associated with the divine wedding of Lord Rama and Mata Sita. The visit brings one of the most celebrated chapters of the Ramayana to life through the temples and living traditions of Janakpur. In the evening, explore local Mithila art, handicrafts, and spiritual markets before settling into the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

9. 

   Day 09

   Janakpur to Sitamarhi to Patna

   Night Stay: Patna
   Places to Visit: Janaki Sitamarhi Temple, Janki Kund, Panaura Dham
   Meals: Breakfast & Dinner

   Start early from Janakpur and proceed toward Sitamarhi, a destination closely associated with the story of Mata Sita. Visit Janaki Sitamarhi Temple and Janki Kund, both important places of devotion for pilgrims following the Ramayana circuit. Continue to Panaura Dham, traditionally believed to be connected with the divine appearance of Mata Sita when King Janaka discovered her while ploughing the field. Spend time at the sacred complex, offering prayers and learning about the local traditions connected with Sita Ji. After completing the Sitamarhi darshan, continue the road journey back toward Patna. On arrival, check in at the hotel and rest after a long but spiritually meaningful travel day.

    Day 10

    Patna to Gaya – Moksha Bhoomi

    Places to Visit: Vishnupada Temple, Sita Kund, Bodh Gaya, Mahabodhi Temple, Sacred Bodhi Tree

    After breakfast, leave Patna and proceed to Gaya, one of India’s most revered destinations for ancestral rituals and prayers for liberation. Begin with a visit to Vishnupada Temple, built around the sacred footprint associated with Lord Vishnu, followed by Sita Kund, linked in the itinerary to the traditions of Mata Sita and King Dasharatha. Later, continue to Bodh Gaya, an important spiritual centre where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment. Visit the Mahabodhi Temple Complex and spend time near the sacred Bodhi Tree in the peaceful surroundings of the site. The day brings together Hindu and Buddhist spiritual traditions within one sacred landscape. After completing the visits, proceed to the hotel in Gaya for dinner and overnight stay.

11. 

    Day 11

    Gaya – Pind Daan & Departure

    After breakfast, proceed for the concluding spiritual experience of the Ramayana Yatra at the Falgu River in Gaya. Attend the sacred Pind Daan and Pitru Tarpan rituals, performed here by generations of devotees for the peace and liberation of their ancestors. The itinerary connects this tradition with Lord Rama’s own offering for King Dasharatha, giving the final day special significance within the journey. Local priest assistance for the rituals can be arranged at an additional cost when requested in advance. After completing the prayers, rituals, and final darshan, take time for blessings and reflection before proceeding to the railway station, airport, or your onward destination. The yatra concludes with memories of the sacred Ramayana circuit across India and Nepal.
