Auli, popularly called as the Skiing paradise of India is at a distance of approximately 270 kms from Rishikesh. How to Reach Auli

Auli is very well connected with the rest of the country by the road network that is safe and well maintained. If travelling by flight, you can reach Auli via Dehradun. Rishikesh or Haridwar is the best option if travelling by Train. Although the road network has the special attention of government agencies, still due to very heavy snowfall during Dec-March, it is advised to stay updated from reliable sources for  travel safety as the roads are sometimes blocked with excess snow.

If travelling via Haridwar

Delhi – Meerut – Muzaffarnagar – Haridwar – Rishikesh – Devprayag – Srinagar – Rudraprayag – Karnaprayag – Chamoli – Joshimath – Auli.



If travelling via Landsdowne

Delhi – Meerut – Khatauli – Bijnor – Najibabad – Kotdwar – Lansdowne – Khirsu – Srinagar – Rudraprayag – Karnaprayag – Chamoli – Joshimath – Auli.

By Train-

Dehradun, Haridwar, and Rishikesh are the nearest Railway stations from Auli. You have to reach to either of these railway stations and then follow the route mentioned above.

By Flight-

The nearest airport from Auli is Jolly Grant Airport of Dehradun. From here you can get directly to Auli or you can just follow the route mentioned above.

  

Essentials needed for Auli travel

Snow-covered Auli is a very cold place to visit in winter. With its unimaginable beauty, Auli has a challenging climate due to snow. While visiting Auli, one should never forget the following essentials:

*Medicines (paracetamol, painkillers, Dettol, and other important doctor’s prescribed medications)

*Gloves, extra socks, earmuffs, mufflers, beanie etc.

* Sunscreen for the strong Sun.

ATMs- Auli doesn’t have any ATMs so you have to stop at Joshimath for the cash withdrawal. Also, don’t rely on credit cards or debit cards, and keep enough cash with you for your whole journey and stay.

Petrol Pumps- For fuel and mechanics, Joshimath is the option. There is no availability of CNG in your destination so keep this is mind.
Also, there are limited hotels availability so it is advised that you should book your accommodation in advance as per your requirements. Joshimath is the place with the most hotels and restaurants so it’ll be a great choice.

Mobile Network Connectivity - The mobile network connectivity in Auli is excellent. Jio, Airtel, BSNL, and Vodafone-idea have good reception but if you go skiing or trekking to far places then you’ll face network issues.

Hospitals- The nearest Hospital is also in Joshimath and it is of utmost importance that you carry basic medications with you at all times.
